The Greater Pool

Salutation: Matthew 4 vs 1 – 11 >> Identity

Scripture: John 5:1-15

• The highest desire that God has for us is that he make you whole and not necessarily to make you prosper through riches
• In all the struggles that you face in your life, there is a deeper voice of God that is calling you to do better, to move away from your sins
• Some of the bad circumstances that happen in our lives is to allow us to grow up, to mature and to get rid of certain bad things in our lives
• As Jesus was entering Jerusalem he entered through a gate called the Sheep Gate.
• The were many people but he came to this man because he was doing what the others were not doing
• Though he couldn’t get up and go into the pool there was something that he was doing that attracted Jesus to him
• The faith of this man allowed him to remain at the pool even though he knew that he would always be beat to enter the pool
• Bethesda means house of mercy
• How can you continue to come to the same pool for 38 years were you are supposed to be healed and still continue to suffer the same predicament?
• This is like coming to church year in year out but you are still facing the same circumstances
• Jesus asked him what seems to be a silly question, “Do you want to be made whole?”
• Can the Lord not see the multitude of all this sick people that are gathered around the pool and that I have been in this situation but he still asks if I want to be made whole (indirectly the Lord is saying do you want to let go of your sins)
• Why does Jesus ask him if he wants to be made well in a place were he is supposed to made well?
• Why does Jesus ask this question?
• The brother had been in that situation for a long time and that it had become normal for him or he had accepted he’s condition or he was comfortable with he’s condition in a place that was supposed to bring him healing
• He’s situation had been there for very long that maybe he had lost he’s desire to be made well, so that is why Jesus had to ask him
• Isaiah 40:31 >> Those that wait upon the Lord
• Even if I come to church and I don’t get healed to day im going to show up every Sunday
• Even if I come to church and I don’t get delivered to day im going to show up every Sunday
• Even if I come to church and I don’t get my breakthrough today im going to show up every Sunday
• Even if I come to church and I don’t get pregnant today im going to show up every Sunday
• Sometimes we adapt to our bad situations so instead of trying to deal with it we try to cope with it
• Rather than being delivered from your situation you are trying to live with it
• Rather than repent of it you want to keep it a secret
• The first level of changing your life starts with a desire, are you willing to made well
• Proverbs 10:24 >> The desire of the righteous shall be granted
• The biggest barrier to our healing is excuses
• Luke 9: 57-62 >> Excuses
• When Jesus asked him to you want to be made well, instead of him saying yes he begins to explain the reason why he cant get into the pool
• When the man stands between the pool and Jesus, all he can think about was how he is going to be made whole in the pool, all he thinks about is the pool and he doesn’t focus on Jesus who is the greater pool
• He doesn’t realize that the best for him to be made whole is not to jump into the pool but to draw closer to Jesus. – Blind Bartimaeus
• Jesus is on he’s right and the pool is on the left but he doesn’t realize that there is a greater pool standing next to him.
• Now the body of Christ is filled with sick people that are not healed because they are thinking that their healing only comes by just coming to church and not drawing closer to Jesus.
• Now we are living in a dispensation whereby most people believe that in order to get my life right I need to join the choir or the ushers with out changing my life and drawing closer to Jesus. That is the same has jumping into the pool. People do not want to draw closer to Jesus they want to jump into the pool.
• Coming to church and not changing your life is like people that were at the pool of Bethesda. A place where all the sick people would hang out.
• We got many Christians that are hanging out by the pool, so they remain in a certain state until they start drawing closer to Jesus.
• This is why the world wonders why every Sunday you go to the pool but your life is still in a mess
• You draw closer to Jesus by spending more time in prayer
• Acts 9: 10-11 >> Ananias prays for Saul
• Its hard to give up when you are praying
• Its hard to remain sick when you are praying
• Its hard to remain bitter when you are praying
• Its had to operate in unforgiveness if you are praying
• Its hard to remain in addiction if you are praying
• How do we know he has changed because he is on he’s knees.
• Obedience to the word of God is the only profitable path to life, when he was told to arise and pickup up he’s bed he did it immediately
• Disobedience to the word has got a price, Jesus tells him when he meets him in the temple that if you sin again it will be worse
• Some people had a problem with this man because he is in the temple but he doesn’t know who made him well
• a problem that he was healed on the wrong day, the sabbath day
• Matthew 12:8 >> For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.
• You can be blessed in Bethesda when Jesus draws closer to you
• If you keep your eyes on your condition you will never get healed
• If you allow circumstances to get into your way you will never find a blessing
• If you allow conditions to stop you, you will never find were you are going
• Some were lame: the inability of you body to function properly , like the man with a withered arm
• Jesus says I am not offering you to be healed at dead water system, because you think there is life in the water instead you are speaking to the water of life.
• If you are coming to church saying I want to get life, I want you to know that Life is not in a building but its in a person called Jesus Christ
• Jesus never heals the man and told him to walk but he told him to walk and then he got healed
• The healing is in obedience
• John 9 : 25 >> I was once blind but now I see.
• Jesus tells him not to leave he’s bed on the ground because he knew he might go back to it again.
• Walk around with you bed so that when people see you and ask you about it, it becomes your testimony – David holding the head of Goliath
• Some of you have been laying on beds of discouragement, beds of sorrow, beds of calamity, beds of self-pity but the Lord is telling you to pickup that bed to show everyone that you are a different person, you life is now changed you have overcome!
• Your bed is your testimony
• A lot of us like to stay on our bed because we like people to continue feeling sorry for us
• We like people having pity on us giving us handouts so we enjoy the bed position
• Pharisees never see miracles because they are always looking at violations. The pharisees had about 633 additional laws to the 10 commandments – Jesus heals someone by putting spit in the ground in John 4, Always waiting to see if you broke the rules – Pharisees spirit
• Instead of seeing a man that is healed you see a man carrying a bed on the sabbath day
• Not all pharisees are dead some of them are in the choir, some in the ushering, some in the congregation
• Someone rose from death to life and all you can see is that he is not doing it right.
• The Lord will turn your bed into a miracle
• The thing that you used to depend on now you are walking around carrying it
• The thing that used to carry you now you are carrying it, it shows you have power to overcome it
• You might start walking crooked or might not be able to walk straight but don’t be discouraged continue to walk, even if they criticize you continue to walk
• You might feel tired sometimes but you need to get up and walk
• If you need a miracle tell your neighbor rise, pick up your bed and walk
• Even if you are tired walk, even if you have grey hair walk, even when you are sick you should walk. Even when its raining you should walk

PRAYERS

1. Let Your healing hand be stretched out upon my life now, in the name of Jesus.
2. Let Your miracle hand be stretched out upon my life now, in the name of Jesus.
3. Let Your deliverance hand be stretched out upon my life now, in the name of Jesus.
4. I annul every engagement with the spirit of death, in Jesus’ name.
5. I rebuke every refuge of sickness, in the name of Jesus.
6. I destroy the grip and operation of sickness upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
7. Every knee of infirmity in my life, bow, in the name of Jesus.
8. Let my negativity be converted to positivity, in the name of Jesus.
9. I command death upon any sickness in any area of my life, in the name of Jesus.
10. I shall see my sickness no more, in the name of Jesus.
11. Let the whirlwind scatter every vessel of infirmity fashioned against my life, in the name
12. of Jesus.
13. Every spirit hindering my perfect healing, fall down and die now, in the name of Jesus.
14. Let all death contractors begin to kill themselves, in Jesus’ name.
15. Let every germ of infirmity in my body die, in the name of Jesus.
16. Let every agent of sickness working against my health disappear, in the name of
17. Jesus.
18. Fountain of discomfort in my life, dry up now, in the name of Jesus.
19. Every dead organ in my body, receive life now, in Jesus’ name.
20. Let my blood be transfused with the blood of Jesus to effect my perfect health, in the
21. name of Jesus.
22. Every internal disorder, receive order, in the name of Jesus.
23. Every infirmity, come out with all your roots, in the name of Jesus.
24. I withdraw every conscious and unconscious cooperation with sickness, in the name of
25. Jesus.
26. Let the whirlwind of the Lord blow every wind of infirmity away, in the name of Jesus.
27. I release my body from every curse of infirmity, in Jesus’ name.
28. Let the blood of Jesus flush every evil deposit out from my blood, in the name of Jesus.
29. I recover every organ of my body from every evil altar, in the name of Jesus.
