Title: Deliverance from Demonic Bondage 10/07/2022
Core Scripture: Mark 4: 35 – Mark 5: 1-20
- In Mark 5, there are 3 situations that seem impossible but Jesus steps up to the scene and does the miraculous. There is the demon possessed man, the woman with the issue of blood and a dead child.
- In Mark 5, we see that Jesus Christ has power over demons, power over sicknesses and power over death
- Avoiding demons doesn’t make them leave you alone
- You need to learn the power of confrontation, you cannot allow demons to run in and out of your life or your house as they please
- Luke 10:19 >> Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
- Some things could have happened to Legion as a child and the demons started multiplying as he got older
- He would move from the mountains (a place where we show ourselves to be ok when we are not) to the tombs (a place where we go in our closet and cry)
- A legion is a group of about 6000 soldiers, but when legion saw Jesus coming out of the boat he bowed down because he recognized a higher authority
- Philippians 2:10-11 >> Every knee shall confess
- The stuff that you are scared of is really scared of you
- Someone will be benefiting from you as long as you remain bound, companies that sell cigarettes will be benefiting from you buying their product whilst you are developing lung cancer
- Acts 16:16-19 >> Paul and Silas heal a demon possessed girl
- Whatever demon that has you bound somebody is benefiting from it, if an evil person has done a spell on you so that you are bound spiritually they will be benefiting from you
- When the people heard that their money was gone, that is when they came to see him at the tombs.
- The bible says that the man couldn’t be tamed, animals are tamed not people, he was wilder than the animals
- This shows the picture of a man or woman without Christ, without him you will be demon possessed
- This man was controlled and enslaved by demons, how do you explain a man raping a baby or a man shooting innocent people? Its demon procession.
- Jesus didn’t ask the man about he’s problem but he asked him he’s name; Jacob was also asked the same question
- An individual can be possessed by demons so much that they are named after their demon procession. For example, drunked or prostitute
- There are 3 requests that are done in this passage of scripture:
- The demons asked that they may not be sent to the abyss but to the pigs and it was granted
- The people asked Jesus to leave their place and he agreed and left
- The man that was possessed asked to follow Jesus and the Lord said no
- The reason why the Lord said no was because he said go and tell the people that saw you in that bad state and they will believe and repent if they see a new you
- In Mark 4, we hear that there was a storm that Jesus rebuked, there are storms that we face in our lives that want to hinder us to connect to Jesus and they must be rebuked
- Tell your neighbor that we are going to the other side
- If you are going through a storm in your life then the must be something big on the other side, a storm is a sign that grace is on its way
- The moment that Jesus decided to go to the place where the possessed man was, immediately a storm appeared
- Have you ever thought of the many things that the enemy did early in your life to try and stop you from connecting to Jesus?
- When life when we face storms we usually think that the Lord has left us but it’s a sign that he is on the way to us.
- Nobody came to see the man when he was bound
- Nobody came to see the man when he was cutting himself
- Nobody came to see the man when he was going up and down from the mountains to the tombs
- They only came to see the man only when they lost their money (when the pigs ran down the slope)
- Society had written this man off but he was now found by the whole city sitting next to Jesus
- Tell your neighbor that you cant remain in what you are going through because Jesus is coming on the other side
- The storm that Jesus faced in Mark 4 was to stop him from getting to Legion, so then how do we know that the storm was sent by the devil? Jesus rebuked the storm
- Have you ever thought of many things in your life the enemy has tried to do to you to stop you from having a relationship with Jesus.
- Jesus doesn’t rebuke natural elements He rebukes devils, and the same devils that caused the storm are the same devils that were possessing the man and were the same demons that wanted to stop Jesus from getting to the man
- The size of your storm shows me the level of your importance to God
- The size of your storm shows me the level of importance of your assignment to God
- The devil doesn’t start a storm for someone that he is not threatened by
- If you are going through a storm I want you to know that there is something big on the other side
- Sometimes we think that because I am going through a storm so we tend to think that the devil has left me, but in this passage it shows that Jesus is on the way
- A storm is a sign that grace is on the way
- The moment Jesus started in the direction of the man the storm started suddenly, when Jesus is coming your way storms suddenly appear.
- The same way Legion was physically bound in chains and living among the tombs could be the same way we are also spiritually and finically bound and living in dead places in our lives
- In one way or the other there is a legion in you. At work there is a different you, in church there is a different you, on social media there is another you, at home there is a different you, at parties there is a different you, when things are not working there is a different you, when you are broke there is a different you, when you are sick there is a different you, when you are happy there is a different you, when you are with your spouse there is a different you, then there is a you that only you know. This is why Jesus had to ask him who are you, because there are so many you’s.
- Legion would take stones and cut himself with them day and night, you might not be doing that physically to yourself but you may be inflicting pain on yourself emotionally because of demon procession.
- You don’t even know why you keep pushing people away, you have been living in the tombs for so long (tombs are like addictions)
- The people in the land of the Gadarenes cared more about the pigs than for this man
- That man became a missionary to he’s own people.
Types of Bondages
- Bondage Of Poverty: This is a state where in a family no one succeeds, no matter how hard the try, no one makes it to the top in the family. Many families are under this bondage of poverty, the devil has block their progress, such that whatsoever they lay their hands on do not prosper.
- Bondage Of Unfruitfulness: This is when a family have been plagued with barrenness. This is not the will of God for any family.
- Bondage Of Sin: This is when sin has taken over your family. There are many families today where you cannot find one saved soul in it. Everyone is just living a sinful life. The devil has blocked their ears and their hearts that they cannot hear the gospel that can save them. Such a family is heading for destruction unless serious deliverance prayers is made on their behalf.
- Bondage Of Stagnation: This is when the progress of a family comes to a full stop. When all doors becomes closed and no one is making progress anymore. This is another sign that the family needs serious deliverance prayers.
- Bondage Of Evil Pattern: An evil pattern is a recurrence of evil in a family from generation to generation. That is to say, what your great grandfather, suffered, your grandfather suffered it, your father suffered it and now you are already seeing the same signs in your life. You must reject it in prayers.
- Bondage Of Ancestral Curses: These is when the sins of your ancestors brings a curse upon your family. This can be very frustrating because a lot of families are suffering from what they know nothing about.
- Bondage Of Addiction: This is when a family has a history of addiction, either addiction to alcohol, cigarettes, drugs or other harmful substances.
- Bondage Of Failure: This is when a family is used to failure and always being behind in everything.
- Bondage Of Disappointments: This is when a family is suffering from the affliction of disappointments. Broken promises, broken friendships, and broken relationships. This affliction is also the cause of what is popularly called ” near success syndrome”. Which is failure almost at the edge of success.
- Bondage Of Slavery: This is when the devil has reduced your entire family members to servants. When you and your family are seen as the least in all things. When people treat you like rags in the society. You must rise up and reject that status. You are not meant to be a slave, but a king. God has ordained you to reign in life and not beg to survive.
Conclusion
Isaiah 10: 27 >> The Yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

- Every evil dedication that has caged my life, break by the blood of Jesus.

- Wicked powers blocking my opportunities, clear away by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Environmental forces caging my life, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- I destroy the root of every stubborn witchcraft in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- I release my life from every evil spiritual cage, in the name of Jesus.
- My Father, My Father, My Father, dispatch your angels to remove me from every evil cage holding me hostage.
- Every agenda of charms and evil people working against my progress, scatter by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Thou power of God tear away every evil chain fashioned against me.
- Every curse caging my life, break by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
- Collective captivity caging my life, break by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
- Every evil judgment limiting my life, break by the blood of Jesus.
- I release my life from every evil spiritual cage, in the name of Jesus.
- Testimonies that will advertise Jesus begin to manifest in my life, in the name of Jesus.
- Association of demons, gathered against my progress, roast by the thunder fire of God, in the name of Jesus.
- Every satanic decision, taken against my progress, be nullified, in the name of Jesus.
- Every stranger in my body (ministry, life and calling), jump out, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Ghost, arise and destroy the habitation and works of the wicked in my life (home, finances, ministry), in the name of Jesus.
- Every satanic weapon, formed against my destiny, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
- Every serpent, caging my destiny, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Every power of darkness, following me about, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Every plot of the enemy against me, be reversed, in Jesus’ name.
- Every power of darkness, that has arrested my ministry and calling, release me now, in the name of Jesus.
- I am coming out of captivity, in the name of the Lord Jesus.
