MOURNING INTO DANCING PSALM

HE TURNED MY MOURNING INTO DANCING PSALM 30:11.

– We are all so materialistic in our thoughts and expectations that when we hear “He turned my mourning into dancing” we immediately think of all material or financial testimonies
– Yes God does delight in the prosperity of his servants Psalm 35:27
– “He will give grace and glory and no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly”
– But all the money and wealth and material goods of this world will never buy us the joy of salvation
– The Lord wants us to be blessed spiritually and materially
If all you have is Material prosperity,it just leads to temporary happiness, so it soon becomes boring
– But if we have both spiritual and material blessings then our joy is full John 16:24
– That’s why the rich of this world have many cars, houses, gadgets, different types of wine and yet they are not satisfied
– Let’s us hear from Solomon, the richest man that ever lived one earth, Ecclesiates 1:12-17, Ecclesiastes 2:1-11
– Solomon concluded… ” behold all was vanity and vexation of spirit Ecclesiastes 2:12
– He says ” Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
– David his father says that the fulness of joy is in God’s presence Psalm 16:11
– He understood the importance of being constantly in God’s presence and so when he sinned he wrote Psalm 51
– He begged God to have mercy on him and ” Blot out his transgressions”
– He asked to be washed thoroughly and cleansed from his sin and iniquity
– He said his bones which were broken by God needed to hear joy and gladness again in order to rejoice
– He says in Psalm 51:10 ” create in me a clean heart , oh God, and renew a right Spirit within me”
– He was begging God for a new heart and a right spirit
– In verses11-12 he was begging God not to cast him away from his presence and not to remove the Holy Spirit from him
– He asked God to restore the joy of salvation to him
– Now David was also rich and popular like his son Solomon
– When he lost God’s presence and joy inspite of all his material riches, wealth , charisma and anointing he began to fast and pray for it
– He says in Psalm 30:6 “In my prosperity I said I shall never be moved ”
– He did not realise that he was simply in favour with God.
– “Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled” Psalm 30:7
Suddenly God hid his face from him and he was in trouble
– But he cried unto the Lord and pleaded for God’s mercy & presence ” I cried to thee , o Lord and unto the Lord I made supplication. What profit is there in my blood , when I go down the pit? shall the dust praise thee? Shall it declare thy truth ? Hear , o Lord , and have mercy upon me:Lord, be thou my helper. “psalm 30:8-10
– God listened to him and he got back his joy in the morning
– He says weeping may endure in the night , but joy comes in the morning
Because the anger of God ” endures for a moment ” but his mercy endures forever Psalm 136
– God delivered him from sin, sorrow and heaviness of heart
– God delivered him from his enemies “When a man’s ways please the Lord , he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him” Proverbs 16:7
– God also healed him and delivered his soul from spiritual and physical death
– If he needed wealth God would have delivered him from poverty too
– God turned his mourning to dancing so that he could live to praise God
– God gave him fullness of Joy
– “To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent . o Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever. ” Psalm 30:12
– He then admonishes us who are the saints of God to sing unto the Lord and give thanks, for these reasons

1. At the remembrance of his holiness Psalm 30:4
– We must understand that God is holy and seek to be saved and be holy even as God is holy

2. He is good and His mercy endures forever
– We must seek His mercy and favour
– Let’s us read Psalm 136 and carefully note all that He has done for us by his mercies, grace and favour.
– In conclusion if you want the type of pure and full joy that David prayed for in Psalm 51, you must seek God in absolute repentance with your whole heart
– Then joy and victory and healing and deliverance and even riches will come your way
The Lord says in John 16:24 that our joy should be full.It is time for God’people to ask God for fullness of Joy.
